Vincent's Den For Men was founded in the early 1970s by its namesake, and has served Etobicoke's Kingsway area for well over 40 years. Today's owner, John Freda, first walked through the door in 1983 — not as an owner, but as a young stylist finding his footing after realizing accounting wasn't for him.
John trained at Bruno's School of Hair Design in Toronto, joined the Vincent's Den team, and in 1989 took over the shop himself. He's been behind the chair ever since, joined over the years by a small team of stylists who've become just as much a part of the neighbourhood as he is.
John's approach has never been complicated: create an enjoyable experience, deliver quality work, and make sure every client leaves happier than they arrived — ideally laughing on the way out. Add in complimentary coffee, espresso, or tea, free WiFi, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, and it's easy to see why clients stick around for decades.
